📚✨ International Literacy Day – Tuesday 8 September ✨📚Today is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the importance of books, stories, songs, rhymes and conversations in helping children develop a lifelong love of language and learning. ❤️🌟 Literacy starts from birth! You don’t need to wait until your child starts school to support their literacy skills. Everyday moments can make a big difference:📖 Share a story together – even if it’s the same favourite book for the 100th time!🎵 Sing songs and nursery rhymes💬 Talk, chat and listen to your child throughout the day🔤 Point out letters, signs and words when you’re out and about🖼️ Look at pictures together and ask, “What can you see?”🧸 Make up stories during playMost importantly, have fun with words! There’s no right or wrong way to enjoy a book or story together 📚 Every story, song, rhyme and conversation helps build the foundations for confident communication, language and literacy.
